- Software EMTP is used for Transmission Line Switching Over Voltage (SOV) Studies
- Studies shall be in compliance with IEC 6007 and IEC 60099
- Various Case Studies are performed Line Switching without and with Trapped Charges
- Perform Statistical Analysis to determine the worst case of switching of Circuit Breakers.
- Determine the value of over-voltages caused in the system due to switching of Long Lines and hence validate the Basic Switching Impulse Insulation Level (BSL) of various equipment after considering various factors like Altitude Correction Factors & Safety Factors
- Validate Selection of Lightning Arrestors Ratings and their Energy Capabilities
- Validate the Optimum location of Lightning Arrestors in the system
